When Merrell discontinued my favorite "Palmetto" sandal (I had about 10 different-colored pairs and still have 4 pairs I will never part with), I was bereft and my feet were forced to live with all sorts of silly humps and bumps with the other models. On a whim, I tried the new Lilyfern, and ahhhhh ... I see another 6 pairs in my near future. (And consequently more than a few Tomato Soup nights.)The Lilyfern footbed is a bit flatter than most Merrell sandals, without a lot of "orthowaves", and this works well for my feet. The upper does come up a bit higher than I would like, but I can get used to this. There is a bit of a rise in the footbed just in front of the center of my instep, but it is not so high that I feel my heel is lower than my toes.
